Julie Doiron Consolation Prize

Check out this new video from Julie Doiron.

I worked on this back in May and it was really fun and one of the more challenging jobs I’ve had in awhile. As you’ll see in the video, we created a girl made of mud. Which consisted of a latex suit made by Henry Townsend. Once we put the suit together, I had to attach some of the latex to her face and then blend with makeup, then last but not least check out the crazy teeth we attached to her face to create her creepy smile!

I also had fun with old age effects on Fred Squires ( the dentist) and Verity Maxwell ( dental assit). You’ll see in the video it goes between Julie as a child, teenager and adult. Julie as a child and teenager will show the natural Fred and Verity, and Julie as an adult will show them made up old! A lot of fun and something different I’d don’t always get to do…check it out!

United Airlines Breaks Guitars!

Some friends of mine, at Curve productions produced this video for The Sons of Maxwell. Who recently travelled with United Airlines and had a tailored guitar mishandled and broken!

I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. Lazybones Music Video for Slow Motion

Last year I worked on this video with Lazybones. I provided hair and makeup and also got to play along in the video with Matt Wells and Tim MacNeil, members of Lazybones!

It was awesome to experiment being in front of the camera, also kinda scary but great fun! To top it off it’s a great song!

You may have noticed access to www.malloryglenn.com is limited. I am currently redesigning the website with the help of Richard Black.

I will keep you posted on when the new site will be launched. For now I am using my blog as a platform to keep you updated on my most recent work and portfolio.

I will do my best to post my newest photos and projects.

So what's going on with the website?
I have recently been inspired and have big plans on creating a new look for the site. I plan on sticking with the same theme as the old website, but I wanted to make it bigger and better because well, why not! It's too much fun not too!

Picnicface!

Picnicface is a hilarious crew from halifax. They have made a number of really funny videos, check them out here!

Back in October I helped the gang out with a trailer for their feature Roller Town. I was brought out to do hair and makeup, and as always I had a blast with these guys. I even got to play a small part!

Also to come, Andrew Bush from Picnicface received a bridge award from CBC last year to create a 22minutes short. In December 2008 we filmed Backshift, I did hair, makeup and wardrobe!! Check out the teaser.

Jay Dahl- There Are Monsters!

Portfolio Rehab Day Pics are up!!

Back in March Brent McCombs and I held a Portfolio Rehab Day. We picked some looks we wanted to create and have represented in our books. We then posted a model call and out of those who showed interest we picked the models we thought suited the looks best.

This is Lisa Rose Snow. I was going for a fresh, clean look. Hoping to achieve something you would see in cosmetics ad. I think it turned out really great and am really proud of this! I will give huge credit to Lisa for being the perfect model for the shot. Brent and I knew when aiming for this we wanted Lisa to be our girl.

Shoot with Natalie Swift

Here are some photos from a shoot we (Brent McCombs, Alter Ego and I) did before Natalie moved to Hawaii!

Brent had an idea of this queen and he wanted to use a photo that he had taken in Antartica and merge it into a beauty shot. So he showed us this beautiful shot....


He then said maybe we could have a blue turbin of some sort and a jewel pinned on it that will represent the moon from the landscape shot. I took an old full length tutu and a antique broche and we came up with this!

Pretty stunning I think....

Very exciting news...well almost.

I am almost there!

I only need a few more days and I will have all the require days I need to become a full member. After that I will have to go through the application process and be voted in...but I am almost there.

Finally a new posting?!

Wow. So it's been awhile since my last post.


Here's what I've been up to:

I worked on a Director's Reel for Rafael Franco. I did the Hair and Makeup. It was a really diverse day for me. We shot 2 spots for 2 different products and both involved some very talented dancers. It was great because since both spots were so different, I was really able to create different looks and play around all day! Enjoy the pics.

Color photo- me doing makeup on the background dancers. The hair pieces were amazing. I can't take credit though Rachel Franco made the hair falls from yarn!


There have been a few things I've worked on but details are on the down low right now and as soon as I can post photos I will!
